INDUCTION TRAINING

Induction training for the newly recruited Munsiff/Magistrate trainees commenced on 17th January, 2011 and 18 trainees attended the training programme. The training was completed on 25th January 2012 with a valedictory function. During the induction training the trainees were enlightened on both substantive and procedural aspects of civil and criminal laws. The Academy has arranged lectures on various topics in different branches of law. Classes were taken by the Hon'ble Judges and former Judges of the High Court, legal luminaries, subject experts from various fields, senior officers of the High Court, senior officers of the subordinate judiciary and the Director, Addl. Director, Dy. Director and Asst. Director of the Academy.

The trainees also wrote judgments in civil and criminal matters based on the materials supplied to them. The Directors scrutinized those judgments and gave necessary instructions. The trainees were furnished with questionnaires containing legal problems for being answered by them and for making an effective and useful discussion about them. Assignments were also given on selected topics. Lower Court training was also arranged during this programme in various Civil Courts and Criminal Courts. The trainees have visited various departments/institutions such as Forensic department, Forest Academy at Arippa, Thiruvananthapuram, Central Jail, Viyoor, Forest Station at Athirapilly and also participated in exchange programme with judicial officers of the Karnataka State.

District Level Training for Ministerial staff & Supervisory Staff of lower courts

The Academy conducted regular training programmes for the ministerial staff and supervisory staff of the Lower Courts at the District Centres and at the Academy. Three such training programmes were conducted by the Academy during the year. The target groups were :
